WEB TO PRINT

After solidifying the concepts and designs for my print and digital versions of my publication, I began doing so for my web to print out put.

The idea for my web to print output of my website, is to allow the user to have the opportunity to print out chapter by chapter of the Folding Beijing story with or without the related planets to that specific chapter.

Ironically, the web to print output is a form which questions the hierarchical stance within my Hybrid Publication. I have designed it in such a way where the Planets within each chapter are not aligned to their corresponding parts within Folding Beijing, as they are in the print and website. In this manner both stories are on par with one another. Whereas in the print and website versions, it is clear that I have used Folding Beijing as a base in which Invisible Planets comes through at specific moments. Thus, Invisible Planets performs as a supporting text of Folding Beijing.

Whereas in the web to print, as mentioned above, both stories are on the same level (literally) and Invisible Planets no longer acts as a supporting text. Users are given the chance to read a particular chapter of Folding Beijing in one go, or read the Invisible Planets stories.

In the setting of a museum, this output form could serve as a nice "take-away" for the audience, and thus have the opportunity to read through the stories peacefully based on my conceptual design.
